What The Future

OVERVIEW

What The Future is an ongoing series of reports from Ipsos and a flagship feature of Ipsos’ content platform Ipsos Future. The publication, in conjunction with Ipsos Future’s data-driven stories, generated over 13,000 subscriptions and led to a myriad of business successes, such as What The Future events and various new business leads.

During my time with Ipsos’ internal marketing team, I worked on the print publication and marketing initiatives of each issue.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Promotional videos for 2 issues
  • Infographics for 3 issues
  • Logo iconography for 5 issues
  • Single Feature email series for 2 issues
  • Author Headshot artwork for 1 issue

Promotional Videos

Each video was produced specifically to work in social media postings, featuring a list of noteworthy outside experts who were interviewed, and ending with a call to action to visit Ipsos for the full report.

Infographics

Each issue of What The Future includes a 2-page magazine spread of public opinion data from over 20,000 respondents across over 27 countries surrounding the issue’s main topic.

What The Future Logos

Part of What The Future’s visual identity is a logo that pairs an icon with the custom wordmark “WTF”. I designed the icons that reflected the major topic of each issue.

Single Feature Email Series

Each issue of What The Future features interviews with experts and insightful articles written by thought leaders at Ipsos. The purpose of the single feature email series is to specifically promote Ipsos authors and any related content from other Ipsos publication platforms.

What The Future Author Headshot Artwork

In the very first issue of What The Future, the production team experimented with polygonal effects on authors’ headshots to convey the idea of futurism.

GenPop

OVERVIEW

GenPop (rebranded as Ipsos Future) is an online content platform for stories driven by Ipsos’ research data, distributed through biweekly email newsletters, social media and special reports such as What The Future. GenPop generated over 13,000 subscriptions and led to the launch of What The Future special reports and What The Future events.

As part of Ipsos’ internal marketing team, I worked with GenPop journalists to produce supporting art assets that maximized sharability on social media and client newsletters, as well as internal marketing material to promote staff engagement.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Hero art, charts and various assets for over 50 stories on GenPop
  • Promotional posters and video to promote GenPop internally

Editorial Artwork

GenPop’s main art direction strategy is to use stock photography for hero images, but when a story touches on concepts that are hard to convey through stock images, I would create custom editorial hero art that brings the concepts to life.

Introducing GenPop

One of the challenges GenPop experienced was getting Ipsos researchers to understand its value in building relationships and generating business opportunities, which was reflected through low staff engagement. To bridge the gap in understanding, I produced an internal video that illustrates the critical role GenPop plays in Ipsos’ business strategy.
